WORKSHOPS & CLASSES
Richard began exploring yoga over 40 years ago with a teacher he met named Ketul in New York. He then did further certification studies at the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts after which he returned to New York where he taught for about twenty five years at this teachers Rasa Studio and a number of other venues in the city.
Over the centuries, the beauties of Cape Breton landscape have been captured in different ways. For example, a painting, a photograph, a story, a poem, the scent of a candle, a cup of tea, or perhaps even a culinary dish.
One aspect which people are now starting to consider and talk about is the connection between music and the landscape.
To celebrate this connection, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 8, there will be an art exhibition hosted by the Inverness County Centre for the Arts of landscape paintings and photos from our local artists and musicians.
For the first twenty minutes of the afternoon, it will be possible to wander around the art exhibitions to become familiar with the landscape paintings and photos and also speak with the artists and musicians.
The musicians will then gather for a special concert to share their interpretations of the landscape. This will be a special glimpse into the interactive process that happens through art. We will finish up the afternoon with an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and learn more from the musicians and artists.
